01 What I fix
Wi-Fi, laptop, printer, email and scam help in Saltdean
Neighbours usually ring about one of these.
-
Wi-Fi that dies in the back room.
Dead spots, dropouts, or a router in the wrong corner. I find where the signal fails and fix it, and get the smart TV and streaming stick back online while I'm there. More on Wi-Fi help
-
The printer stopped after a new router.
It worked yesterday and now nothing can find it. I reconnect it to every computer and phone that needs it. More on printer setup
-
A slow laptop, or a new one to set up.
I'll tidy up the slow one and tell you straight whether it has life left before you buy new. Or I'll set up the new one and move your files, photos and email across. More on laptop and computer repair
-
Email that's stopped working.
It won't send, won't arrive, has locked you out, or has vanished from your phone. I get it working on every device and write down what I changed. More on email help
-
“I think I've been scammed.”
A pop-up, a call “from Microsoft” or “BT”, or someone was on your computer. Turn off the Wi-Fi or unplug the cable, stop using the computer, and call me. I'll check it, clean it up, and help you secure your accounts. If bank details were involved, call your bank first. What to do after a scam
Booking for Mum or Dad? I'll visit them, go at their pace, fix it, and leave simple written steps. If you like, I'll ring you afterwards to say what I did. How booking for a parent works
02 How it works
I come to you. Remote when it's simpler.
Most jobs are best done at your home, in the room where the problem is: Wi-Fi and router placement, printers, a new device set up with you there, anything for an older relative, and anything after a scam. If your internet works and it's something quick, like a slow PC or email settings, I can fix it remotely. You start the session and can end it at any time. I will never call you out of the blue asking to connect.

I'm Simon.
I live in Saltdean and I do home IT support for neighbours around here — Wi-Fi, laptops, printers, email, and the awkward “I think I've been scammed” moments. I've worked in IT for more than twenty years, including years keeping shop and restaurant systems running, so I'm used to turning up, fixing it, and explaining what I did in plain English. If something's broken at home, call me — I'm usually only a few minutes down the road.

07 Questions
Questions neighbours ask.
Do you offer computer repair in Saltdean, or only remote help?
Both. Most computer repair in Saltdean is a home visit — Wi-Fi, printers, new laptops and anything for an older relative are easier in the room where the problem is. If your internet works and it's a quick software or email fix, I can do it remotely for £30/hour. You're in control of the session and can end it any time. I never call out of the blue asking to connect.
Do you do computer help in Peacehaven?
Yes. Peacehaven is only a few minutes from Saltdean, so home visits use the same rates: £35 for the first hour, then £15 per extra half hour. Call or WhatsApp 07843 468904 with what's gone wrong and I'll tell you the likely cost before I set off.
Do you do PC repair in Rottingdean?
Yes — Rottingdean is part of the usual patch. Typical jobs are slow PCs, Windows tidy-ups, email that won't send, and printers that vanished after a router change. Same prices as Saltdean, and no contract.
Can I book a home visit computer repair in Woodingdean?
Yes. Woodingdean is BN2 and close to Saltdean, so travel is short. I'll come to you, fix what I can on the visit, and leave simple written steps if you want them. Evening or weekend visits are £60 for the first hour when I'm free, then £15 per extra half hour. Weekends are by arrangement only, so get in touch first to book one.
Do you do Wi-Fi help in Brighton and Hove too?
Yes. Dead spots, dropouts and routers in the wrong corner are common call-outs. Rates for Brighton & Hove are the same as Saltdean, with no travel charge. Smart TVs and streaming sticks often come back online once the Wi-Fi is sorted.
What if I think I've been scammed or “Microsoft” called me?
Turn off the Wi-Fi or unplug the cable, stop using the computer, and call me. If bank details were involved, call your bank first. I'll check the machine, clean it up, and help you secure email and accounts. Scam clean-ups usually come to about £65–£95 (two to three hours) depending on how far it went — I'll give you a likely band before I start.
I'm booking for Mum or Dad — will you go gently?
Yes. I'll visit them, go at their pace, explain in plain English, and leave written steps. If you like, I'll ring you afterwards to say what I did. No jargon, and no making anyone feel daft for asking.
Do I have to sign up to a monthly contract?
No. Households pay per visit. First hour £35; remote £30/hour; no monthly fee. If the same problem comes back within 14 days, that return is on me.
