01 What I can fix

What I can fix remotely.

I will never call you out of the blue asking to connect. If your internet works and it's a quick software or email fix, I can do it remotely for £30/hour. You start the session and can end it at any time.

  1. Email that's stopped working.

    It won't send, won't arrive, or has vanished from one device. If the internet on that computer works, I can do this remotely.

  2. A quick software fix.

    Stuck updates, or another quick software fix. The same sort of job I do at the kitchen table, when your internet works.

  3. You stay in control.

    You start the session and can end it at any time. I only connect after you've booked, and you ring or message me first.

02 When I visit

When a home visit is better.

Remote help needs a working internet connection. If it isn't working, it's a home visit: £35 for the first hour, then £15 per extra half hour.

  1. Wi-Fi across the house.

    Remote help can't walk round the house checking the signal room by room.

  2. A printer to set up.

    Printer setup works best on a home visit, with the printer, the router and your computer in front of me.

  3. A new laptop, or a repair at the kitchen table.

    I set a new laptop up with you there. I don't do screen or board-level repairs at your home; I'll tell you where to take it, or whether a replacement makes more sense.

  4. After a scam.

    If someone has already had remote access, I won't clean it up remotely. I come to your home.

03 How it works

How a remote session works.

I use TeamViewer QuickSupport. You share the ID with me, you can see everything I do on screen, and you can end the session at any time. Open it only from this page: TeamViewer QuickSupport.

  1. Book a time.

    Call, WhatsApp, or book a visit and say you'd like remote help. I only connect after you've booked, and you ring or message me first.

  2. Open TeamViewer QuickSupport.

    Use this page only: TeamViewer QuickSupport. Don't use a copy from an email or from someone who rang you.

  3. Share the ID with me.

    Share the ID on the screen with me. You can see everything I do on screen.

  4. End it whenever you want.

    You start the session and can end it at any time.

04 Staying safe

I never cold-call.

I will never call you out of the blue asking to connect. Microsoft and BT won't ring out of the blue to fix your computer, and your bank will never ask to get onto it.

  • If the same problem comes back within 14 days, the return visit is on me.

Close to home.

I'm based in Saltdean. Remote help is for a quick software or email fix when your internet works, including for family in Brighton & Hove. Further into Brighton & Hove the rates are the same, with no travel charge. A home visit in Rottingdean, Telscombe Cliffs, Ovingdean, Woodingdean and Peacehaven is only a few minutes away.
